Hi Pat, What should we do with our photos from the weekend? Would you like mine burned onto a CD and mailed to you or someone at the TRF website?

I do have to say, this year's TRF tournament was absolutely amazing bringing in over twice as much in donations as last year. A special thanks goes out to everyone who contributed in making this event such a success... I know the tournament wouldn't be where it is today without such a supportive community

I've been playing wiffleball since I was a kid and I'm now 34 years old. Through the years I've played all over New England, in different leagues and tournaments with a variety of rules. Fast pitch, slow pitch, indoors, outdoors. I played in the Travis Roy Foundation and Jarred Williams Foundation tournaments in 2006 and I can honestly say that these were the best wiffleball experience I've ever had. Not only did I have a chance to play the game I love, but I also felt like I was contributing to a greater cause, and these tournaments are supported by people and businesses from the local community. This is Vermont at its finest. Pat O'Connor is a great man. Little Fenway is hallowed ground.

This is the most amazing thing this Red Sox fan has seen since Red Sox Nation was blessed with the 2004 Championship. I would love to come and see your creation. I live outside of Albany NY and would love directions to Jericho, VT and Little Fenway. What times are games scheduled for Sunday (8/12)? David Deering Rexford, NY

My brother in law brought us to see Little Fenway. My 6 year only grandson John Gregory was in awe! So was I. We are going to Fenway the 29th to see the sox whip Texas! Thanks for a great experience. We are visiting from North Carolina.

Just recently heard about your fantastic endeavor and had to check it out for myself. Tom M. was right-it's awesome! Also, hope to someday try those smoothies! Best of luck with Wrigley. Marty Melton - Florida

We have tried smoothies all over New England and nothing comes close to the smoothies at Elderberry's (www.elderberrysonline.com) in Roanoke, Virginia. If you haven't had a smoothie at Elderberry's then you have to stop there next time you are in Virginia. You will be glad you did.

Does anyone make smoothies at the field on game day?

Distributed to our mailing list on May 9th, 2007:

Greetings from Little Fenway - on May 24th, we will commence our 7th season of Wiffle ball at our miniature replica of Fenway Park. The little Green Monster withstood another brutal Vermont winter. Minor repairs to the wall, the track, and the bullpens will be made over the next couple weeks.

In addition to an assortment of community Wiffle ball games this season, we will host 3 major tournament this year: the 2nd annual Blue Bulls Invitational on June 2nd, the 6th annual Travis Roy Foundation tournament August 10-12th, and the 2nd annual Jarred Williams Foundation tournament the second weekend in September.

We intend to expand parking for the August tournament because we are expecting the largest crowd ever to visit Little Fenway. There will be 24 teams competing in that tournament and we will have the grand opening of Little Wrigley on Friday August 10th.

Between May - August, significant work will be done on Little Wrigley. The wall will be painted, ivy planted, and baskets mounted on the top of the wall. A deck will be added behind the centerfield wall and the famous Wrigley scoreboard will be lifted high above the deck in center field. Everyone who has played in a game at Little Fenway can't wait 'til the second field is opened.

We will be adding more pictures of Little Wrigley to both littlefenway.com and little wrigley.com in the months ahead. Additonally, a book will be published in 2008 on the story of Little Fenway. A special thanks to Lisa Young and Mario Fontana for their help on the book and to Brian O'Connor for his work on the two websites.

If you have any specific questions or comments please log on to our forum (www.littlefenway.com/forum.php).

Great question. It is the the 2nd most frequently asked question since the field was built after Why. The distances are approximately one-fourth scale to Big Fenway and the Green Monster is one-third the height. The complete set of dimensions, including the distances to various parts of the outfield wall and basepaths will be published in the book Little Fenway: Bigger than a Baseball Fan's Imagination which will hit the stores before next baseball season. Hope you all will pick up a copy.

For those of you who are psyched to see Little Wrigley, I've put together a little interactive construction page where you can take a look at Little Wrigley in a 3D scrolling view. You can find this here: www.littlewrigley.com

Great idea to start a blog. Things are shaping up pretty well for our team early on... we have a potential corporate sponsor that would make a donation to the Foundation AND match funds we raise. I have a few smaller leads too if that one doesn't materialize. We're excited. My Chicago buds (all diehard Cubs fans) coming in for the tourney are very psyched to see Little Wrigley.

To answer your question on cost of the tournament: Team registration cost is a $500 donation to the Travis Roy Foundation. Each team is expected to do the best they can at additional fundraising for the Travis Roy Foundation (e.g. developing a fan club, securing a few sponsors). This month we are trying to finalize the teams for the 2007 event with priority being given first to the teams that were here last year, and then, second, to the teams on our waiting list who can commit the registration fee and have the best plans for add'l fundraising. Thanks for asking.

Can't wait for the tourney this year Pat! Hope everything is great in VT. Mario Fontana and I had a nice chat about the tournament a couple of weeks ago and got all fired up for it and it was only February. The blog is a great idea. See you in a couple of months!
