Travis Roy Foundation
The Travis Roy Foundation was established in 1997 to help spinal cord injury survivors and to fund research into a cure. Inspired by Travis' own story, the lifeblood of the Travis Roy Foundation has been the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations across North America. This generosity has made an immediate impact on the lives of many individuals.

Since 1997 the Travis Roy Foundation has distributed more than $1.3 million in individual grants and to research projects and rehabilitation institutions across North America. The individual grant funds have been used to modify vans and to purchase wheelchairs, computers, ramps, shower chairs, and other adaptive equipment to help paraplegics and quadriplegics live their lives.
Curt’s Pitch for ALS has been an extremely successful fundraising program since its beginning in 1993. Now part of the Curt’s Pitch team are ALSA chapters located in Arizona, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Northern New England, Philadelphia and Rhode Island.

This year, Curt and Shonda are scheduled to attend the Curt’s Pitch Post-Season Reception in Boston and Philadelphia this fall and in Arizona in February 2007. In March, Curt made an appearance and spoke with patients and die-hard Red Sox fans at the Florida Chapter’s “Springing for a Cure” event held in Fort Myers, FL; former Red Sox player, John Flaherty also attended this event, which raised around $25,000. Later this year, the Schillings are scheduled to appear at a cocktail party and reception in conjunction with the celebration of the Rhode Island Chapter’s 10th Anniversary.
